Our Practice

Established in the 1960s, West Portal Dental Care is still in its original location at 48 Vicente Street in San Francisco, CA.

We are a few steps up the hill from 7x7 Oral Surgery with our main door located under the sign that says 'West Portal Dental Care.' We have metered street parking right outside our facility or you may park in the neighborhood up the street for complimentary 2-hour parking. Our office boasts spacious, private treatment rooms and views overlooking West Portal Avenue and into our Sycamore tree from one story above street level.

For those who are mobility-impaired or wheelchair-bound, our building also has an elevator. Please inquire inside 7x7 Oral Surgery for access to it.

Meet Our Dentists

Dr. Anne Wang

Dr. Anne Wang is a general dentist who enjoys working with patients on maintaining and improving their beautiful smiles.

Dr. Anne Wang grew up on the east coast in the Philadelphia suburbs. After graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her dental degree and public health degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She then completed a general practice residency at Northwestern University. After working for several years in the East Coast, she moved to the Bay Area to be closer to her family.

In her free time, she likes to listen to podcasts, read, travel with her husband and son, and hike with their dog Chester. She has gone on several dental mission trips, and loves interacting with different cultures.

Dr. Leila Jamshidi

I believe in a personalized approach to dentistry, emphasizing prevention and the overall well-being of my patients. My goal is to provide care tailored to your individual needs while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience. I earned my bachelors degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental biology from UCSC before continuing my dental education at the University of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry here in San Francisco.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy cycling, baking, and spending time outdoors. My ideal weekend includes an early Peloton ride, an afternoon by the ocean, and a night watching Futurama with my fiancé and our two cats, Hana and Nibbler.

After completing a two-part deep cleaning, I was able to obtain a routine cleaning from Cindy. After explaining how my gums are ultra-abnormally sensitive, she dolloped my gums with numbing gel and performed my cleaning manually. OMG - I don't think I've experienced a more pleasant routine cleaning. She was patient and thorough. All the services I have received from West Portal Dental have been outstanding, however there is a waiting list to receive routine cleanings due to high demand.

I am a fearful, terrible dental patient. I've had negative experiences with two local places and then visited a dentistry that specializes in patients like myself, which was quite costly. I tried West Portal Dental Care several years ago and was very comfortable from the first visit. Yes, I still take something before an appointment. But Dr. Mathai and her team make sure I'm ok during the most basic cleaning to getting a crown. Dr. Mathai is reputable and doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures to increase her profits like Dr. Aliabadi at Pro Dental Care. I will be forever grateful to have found Dr. Mathai and her team.
